Who is Shasta Cloud?

Allow us to introduce ourselves. At Shasta Cloud, we believe in your network, your way—delivering a simple, efficient, and powerful approach to networking. Our journey began with industry pioneers who saw an opportunity to redefine networking, making it more flexible, scalable, and accessible.

Simply put, we help MSPs deliver better networks for their customers.

Shasta Cloud was born out of a desire to break free from the constraints of traditional, monolithic networking models. Steve Martin, our CEO & Co-Founder, has spent over 30 years shaping the networking industry, driving innovation, and building groundbreaking solutions. Throughout his career—including leadership roles at Cisco, Airespace, and Ruckus Networks—Steve saw firsthand how legacy networking models stifled flexibility and innovation. He knew there was a better way. Alongside him, Doron Givoni, our CTO & Co-Founder, brings decades of expertise in network architecture and cloud-based solutions. Doron played a pivotal role in developing some of the most advanced networking technologies at companies like Ruckus and Meta. His work in open networking and cloud-driven infrastructure laid the foundation for what Shasta Cloud has become today.

The two came together with a shared vision: to build a better networking platform that puts control back in the hands of MSPs. Their goal was to strip away unnecessary complexity, reduce costs, and create a truly open and flexible networking ecosystem—one where service providers could innovate and scale on their own terms.

But the depth of experience doesn’t stop there. Our team is packed with networking industry legends. These are the minds who have built and deployed some of the most advanced network infrastructures in the world. At Shasta Cloud, we’ve come together with a singular vision: to empower MSPs with the tools, insights, and freedom they need to build and manage networks their way.

Shaking Things Up in Networking

The networking industry is undergoing a shift, where traditional networking models are being challenged as new technologies and business pressures force change. MSPs and their end customers are demanding more flexibility, cost efficiency, and innovation than ever before. Increasingly, the question is being raised: are legacy approaches to deploying networks obsolete? In many ways, we believe the answer is yes. However, breaking old habits and overcoming resistance to change remain key challenges.

What’s Driving the Shift?

  • Demand for Customization – Businesses need tailored networking solutions, but legacy vendors dictate rigid, one-size-fits-all models that limit MSPs’ ability to differentiate and brand their services.
  • Cost Pressures – Balancing competitive pricing while maintaining margins is a struggle. Complex pricing structures, deal registration requirements, and rigid reseller models limit profitability and handcuff MSPs.
  • Operational Complexity – The current process of designing, deploying, and managing networks is filled with inefficiencies. Staging equipment, configuring hardware, and managing multi-vendor environments add unnecessary costs and delays.

These forces are accelerating the adoption of alternative approaches like open networking—separating hardware and software to create adaptable, high-performance networks. In 2025, this model is no longer a niche concept; it’s becoming a necessity. MSPs now have greater control than ever before, empowering them to design, deploy, and manage networks with the best tools for every element. The status quo is being challenged, and we don't expect that to slow down in 2025.
